STEP 1/10
First, cut the cucumber in half.
STEP 2/10
Then, use a chopping knife to push it out thinly. Usually, I use a lot of fillers when I shave it off thinly, but it's hard to do that. So if you use a chopping knife like this, it's much easier and you can push it to a uniform thickness.
STEP 3/10
You just have to roll the cucumber thinly.
STEP 4/10
Next is ham. Blanch ham in boiling water for 15 seconds.
STEP 5/10
Remove the blanched ham right away and cool it down. These days, besides regular ham, there is also ham made of chicken breast for diet, so it's better to use it.
STEP 6/10
I'll officially start making it. Spread mayonnaise on the bread. Apply mayonnaise on one side only. It's for dieting, so you don't need to apply a lot, but it's good enough even if you apply.
STEP 7/10
Place blanched ham on top of it.
STEP 8/10
Lastly, put sliced cucumbers on top.
STEP 9/10
Lastly, cover it with bread. Originally, it's open toast, but you can decide whether to cover it with bread or not according to your preference. You can make bread with rye bread instead of bread.
Don't use fillers but a chopping knife for cucumbers. You can change mayonnaise to cream cheese. You can use chicken breast ham instead of regular ham. You can change the bread to rye bread instead of bread.
