Sikhye is a difficult food to make only on holidays, but malt is easily sold in the market as a tea bag these days, so you can make Sikhye easily at home now. So I prepared it ambitiously.

Ingredients

    2cup
  • Sugar
    5T
  • Ginger
    2piece
Cooking Steps
STEP 1/13
Sikhye starts with cooking rice. Please cook rice with 2 cups of Kawaji No. 1.
STEP 2/13
I washed the rice clean and cooked it using an electric rice cooker.
STEP 3/13
When the rice is ready, stir well and pour plenty of water from the water purifier. (Add 2 liters of water for 2 bowls.)
STEP 4/13
Please put in 5 bags of sikhye tea bag.
The size varies depending on the manufacturer I buy, so I put 5 bags in the tea bag.
STEP 5/13
Keep it warm in an electric rice cooker for about 5 hours.
If there are two or three grains of rice, we have enough time.
STEP 6/13
Please wait for 2 or 3 rice grains to appear in 5 hours.
STEP 7/13
After 5 hours, 2 to 3 rice grains started to float.
Remove the tea bag from the pot immediately, and cut it again.
STEP 8/13
When Sikhye starts to run out, remove all foam.
After removing the foam neatly, allow time to cool.
Put it in a glass container, keep it cool in the refrigerator, and drink it when it gets cool.
Make sikhye conveniently at home now.
STEP 9/13
Have some cold sikhye.
I made a flower with jujube and floated it on top of Sikhye, so it seems to have become Sikhye properly.
STEP 10/13
A cooler sikhye was made with Kawaji No. 1 rice.
STEP 11/13
It's even filling with sikhye in a large beverage container. From tomorrow, I will enjoy the coolness with sikhye instead of carbonated water.
STEP 12/13
How about putting sikhye in a pretty glass and drinking it Sikhye, a healthy drink, is our healthy drink this summer.
STEP 13/13
It's good to drink a glass of sikhye coolly, but it's a cool and sweet taste like sikhye that catches the greasiness when you eat it with tteokbokki and seaweed rolls.
If you drink sikhye, which is good for health, with ice cubes rather than soda in summer, you can overcome the healthier summer heat.^^
